Good mechanic for unusual requests
I have a 91 Saturn that I have maintained faithfully and it is still in remarkably good shape for a 25 year old car. I enjoy driving it for many of reasons and have resisted market pressures to upgrade to a "new" vehicle.
When it came time to rebuild my car's tranny, I called around and was the recipient of a whole continuum of reactions from local transmission shops from shock and amazement to disgust. I even had one shop owner tear me a new one for daring to want to keep my car in running condition.
Anyway, long story short - Winchester Transmission was willing to take on the job - and they were cheerful about it. They cast no aspersions on my character for choice of driving machine. That was win #1.
Win #2 was that they did a great job on my transmission and even took a bit of time to educate me about the process.
Win #3 is that every time I go in for a service or repair on my car, they toss in some type of bonus. They are incredibly reasonably priced.
Win #4 - sometimes my husband and myself do our own repair work on the car - we are both handy and good at this type of thing (although replacing a tranny was a bit above our pay grade). Winchester gives me no grief about this - like some other dealership shops that I won't mention.
I have been quite satisfied with the work from this shop.
