A1 Heating St. Albert Ltd. had performed service for me in the past, for little things such as replacing furnace filters and servicing or basic maintenance of my HVAC system, so I called them again when my hot water heater went out.

This is a hard review because I think that the technicians who came out to install the new hot water heater did a good job with that installation. As far as it working and functioning I think the job was done well and would give that portion of this installation a five-star rating. However, when two of the technicians were carrying the old hot water heater out of the house they did not put covering over the top half of the stairs or the remaining floor leading out of the house. I have bone colored carpet and there were black/oily spots that had leaked from the old hot water heater as they carried it out I saw this immediately and had one of the technicians look at what was happening. He quickly got what I thought was a wipe of some kind and started cleaning the spots which smeared from just a spot to about the size of a hamburger bun. Well I stopped him immediately from cleaning because all it did was spread the spot. He gets out his camera and takes a picture and then calls his supervisor. Shortly after that the secretary called me to let me know that they would have the stairs and carpet cleaned and to expect a call from a carpet cleaning company, which I did receive and scheduled the appointment for the following day. Thank goodness they were able to get every spot off the floor with no stains!

A1 Heating St. Albert Ltd. did take care of the expense for the carpet cleaning and I am grateful that they did so. They just stepped right up and took care of it. What I think is that the technicians should have been more careful and preventative with removing the old heater. I don't think it was done on purpose but I do think that this is something that they should be aware of and might happen when removing an old heater.

I want to thank them for taking care of this issue and I appreciate the cleaning and restoring of my carpet!
