Pioneer Plumbing

Got Ripped Off

If you want to have nightmares about being ripped off, give Pioneer Plumbing a call.
Here are the issues I've had:
Last January we moved into our new house, with three small children. We ran into some plumbing issues (not out of the ordinary for the Valley). Pioneer came out and gave us a quote for $3500 in repairs that he said would fix our situation for the next 10 years. That beat out other quotes. They came, did the work, and then said they found more repairs necessary for another $4k+. Now we're up to almost $8K, close to the quotes we received from plumbers who were going to replace our entire line.
In November, our plumbing backs up into our house. We call another plumber to our house, and they say that Pioneer ripped us off. The work that was done was not worth almost $8K, and we still needed a new line put in. They used bait and switch to jack up the original quote, and we were stuck with a line that was still unusable. So, we call Pioneer back and ask them to make this right. They hydro flush our line (so that it will look good), run a camera through, and tell me everything is good. Another shady move.
1 month later, it backs up again. Pioneer comes back out, runs a camera through the pipes, admits the work originally done was bad and that they would have to replace the whole line (making the almost $8k work completely worthless). They tell me that my line from the yard to the city line (in the alley) is also bad. They tell me they'll give a "good deal" and only charge me $12K more to fix everything (putting me at $20K total). They also tell me the job will take 4 days to complete. It's been 18 days now. My yard is torn up and completely unusable. There are many days that go by where no one from Pioneer comes to work on the job. Additionally, while digging the line, they cut electrical cords that run to my garage. Instead of telling me, they just leave for the day. I go into my garage the next day, to find the food that we keep in a fridge/freezer in the garage has all gone bad.
The line from the back of my yard to the city pipes is not bad enough to need replacing, it was just another way for them to jack up the price and rip me off. I'm a good guy. I have three little kids. I've been super pleasant and reasonable.
