Sullivan Moving & Storage

Don't hire Sullivan Moving & Storage if you value you personal belongings

Moving is an extremely stressful time for anyone, but we wanted to make our move was a pleasant and positive experience, which is why we hired Sullivan Moving & Storage an agent for United Van Lines - to ensure our personal belongings were in the hands of someone we could trust... or so we thought.

In what should have been a simple 397.1 mile interstate move, Sullivan Moving & Storage an agent for United Van Lines did over $8,050.97 in damage to our personal belongs.

Yes, you read that correctly - Sullivan Moving & Storage an agent for United Van Lines did over $8,050.97 in damage to our personal belongs.

Boxes that were clearly marked fragile were found upside-down, sideways and smashed. Our dresser was even loaded upside-down and piled on on top of boxes and other fragile furniture.

The Sullivan Moving & Storage an agent for United Van Lines team member who was responsible for unloading our belongs stated that it was the most poorly packed truck he had ever seen.

The damaged items include but are not limited to the follow:

1. HubSpot Bike - Prize for 1st Place USA Social Media Marketing Contest from September 2018 (priceless) - scratches, bent wheel, disassembled, bent frame.
2. Leggett & Platt Leggett & Platt Premier P-232 Adjustable Bed Base, Split King, Wireless, Wall Hugger, Bluetooth, Night Light, Black from February 2017 ($3,999.99) - dents, dings, scratch's, fabric tares.
3. Serta iComfort Blue Touch 100 9.75" Gentle Firm Memory Foam Mattress from February 2017 ($1,599.00) - transported incorrectly, potential stains, handled poorly.

6. Monitor Dell (S2718D) S series 27-Inch Screen LED-Lit Monitor, Black/Silver Stand from May 2018 ($457.00) - box was smashed, won't turn on.

While we filed our claim with Sullivan Moving & Storage an agent for United Van Lines well before January 30th, they weren't able to have an adjustor come to evaluate our damaged belongs until February 12th, 2018 - 16 days after our personal belongings were delivered.

That is 16 days of not being able to fully unpack, throw away boxes or get settled during what was already an incredibly stressful time.

When the adjustor finally came to evaluate our damaged belongs they stated that it looked like our boxes were just chucked around carelessly and that it was clear that they hadn't been handled with care.

Now, almost three weeks later, Sullivan Moving & Storage an agent for United Van Lines is trying to get out of compensating us what we are rightfully owed, even though we purchased Full Value Protection, which is the most comprehensive plan to protect goods while moving.

The Full Value Protection plan gives the mover's the option to either repair or replace our items at today's market value.

Yet, in their offer, which read "Our check in the amount of $3,312.98 will be mailed the week of February 18, 2019. This represents full and final settlement on your claim and order number S-26-9 and claim number CLM-70-19." they tried to force to accept $300.00 for loss of beauty.

Furthermore, Sullivan Moving & Storage an agent for United Van Lines has not made a formal apology or offered additional compensation or reimbursement for not meeting the level of service which we were guaranteed.

When we reached out to United Van Lines, they were unwilling to hear us out and said it was not their responsibility, even though UniGroup's Code of Conduct claims that ethical standards are a key ingredient to the success of their great company and they are committed to conducting business safely, honestly, and in compliance with the law.

Their code of conduct also claims that it is every partner's responsibility to act with integrity and to always choose to do the right thing.

Why hasn't Mark Fischer and Mark Keiper, the two people responsible for running Sullivan Moving & Storage an agent for United Van Lines, acted with integrity and chosen to do the right thing in this situation?
