I've used FireHouse Moving Company twice before and I was totally satisfied. That's why I went with them a third time, but I was very disappointed with their service this time, especially considering I gave them a month notice of my move date and at the time of scheduling, I was the first and only customer for the day I scheduled. I had specifically scheduled 3 men for the move because I had a lot of furniture. Then the day of, they showed up with only two men. I asked where third was and they told me they were short because one of them had called in sick. These boys had less than a year's experience on the job and didn't have the strength to move my furniture. Afterwards, I learned that they had damaged 4 of my pieces. After a full day of work, 12 full hours, they had only moved half of my two bedroom house. At this point, I was exhausted, and they were clearly exhausted as well and wanted to end the night of work. Then, they asked for payment and so I asked if they would be able to finish the job the next day, which was a Sunday. They said that they don't work on Sundays so I refused to pay because they would not accommodate me after failing to finish the job. At that point, they called the owner, and he demanded payment. I said no again and hung up on him. He texted me saying it was unlawful to refuse payment for services already rendered, and after 24 hours of thinking about it, I texted him back to explain WHY I had refused payment. The fact that they didn't send the number of people I asked for, that they were inexperienced, and that they did not finish the job. They didn't want to work on their day off, but I had to work on my day off because they didn't do their job. That's why I will never work with them again. I found out later the owner was on another job, he should have been supervising my job instead of taking on more work to try and make more money. He should have gotten my job done, then they would have gotten paid. I would suggest that others not do business with them unless they show up with the man power promised and get the job done. I've personally found a different company that does what they say they will do.
