I don’t understand the hoopla
I used Main Line Kitchen for design services. They measured my space and offered a design that maximized the sales of their cabinet lines. What else? After the cabinet sale, Main Line Kitchens was done. They messed up my order. I caught the mistake when MLK sent me the contract. I pointed out that they had ordered the wrong color cabinets, and refused to pay until the contract was corrected. They corrected the contract, and I signed and paid. Regardless, they delivered the wrong color. It sat in my living room for three weeks until they picked it up and delivered the correct cabinets. That does not mean that all of the subsequent subcontractors could adjust to a three week delay. Main Line Kitchens loves to tell you how badly Home Depot and Lowe’s will mess up your order, but they were just as bad.
On my own, I needed to find granite countertops, appliances (refrig, stove, range and microwave, dishwasher and garbage disposal) and sink, faucets, and electrical ( under cabinet lights, pendant light, high hats for ceiling,) and tile and installation for my floor and backsplash, a replacement window, and knobs and pulls for the cabinets and drawers. I
shopped where MLK offered discounts, and I found
better prices on ALL of these with other suppliers.
I am at a loss- besides design and cabinet sales, what does Main Line Kitchens provide? They did give me names of contractors. The contractor I chose was excellent, but, again, how does the completion of my kitchen relate to the designer, versus the contractor and supplier????
