I've used them twice. The guys from Mr. Handyman of E Boulder, Broomfield & Erie were prompt. They worked carefully and thoroughly cleaned up any messes. They asked questions and were very attentive to my needs. However, I learned the hard way that the jobs Mr. Handyman does best are those that come with specific direction and instructions. It's up to the homeowner to assess the difficulty of the job and if it requires professional attention or not. For example, the first time we hired Mr. Handyman for gutter cleaning. They came and did a basic gutter cleaning job. Unfortunately, when the next storm came, the gutters overflowed again. When our gutters overflow, the water goes into our basement window wells and then into the basement. So, I had to hire a gutter company to assess the situation which cost thousands of dollars more than Mr. Handyman. They determined that the gutters needed power washing, the downspout drains needed enlarging, and screens needed to be installed. They also told me the French drains were broken and needed replacing. I paid for them to do the above- ground work, but stalled on the underground repair. In the meantime, my lawn guy volunteered to dig down and take a look. He and I determined that the French drains didn't need replacing at all. In fact, it was a downspout with a broken seam that was causing the problem. Once again, I called Mr. Handyman. They repaired the broken seam. Mr. Handyman's best work is done on very specific jobs. It is up the homeowner to determine when professional expertise is required for more complicated issues. I would recommend Mr. Handyman for the usual type of household chores but problems that require specific or expert knowledge should go to the experts.
