I am editing my initial post due to two factors. 1) The owner responded, I was not expecting any response, the response indicates he does care about customers and his business. 2) The fact that this shop is so booked up is part of an industry problem and nothing to do with this particular shops ability to do work. NO ONE is this state is taking on walk in work. Every shop is taking appointments for estimates. There is an oversupply of demand for work needed and a shortage of supply to preform work. When I look at my insurance for the two vehicles I have here in Colorado versus the two identical vehicles I have in Kansas it explains why my Colorado policy is double that of the same policy in Kansas!

I do not mind waiting for the work to be completed. I never in my wildest expectations thought it would be so hard to get a simple estimate... anywhere...

I hate rust on a vehicle especially when its caused by another shops crappy work. The rust on my vehicle is isolated and caught early. I have dealt with rust on other vehicles and you can never "fix" a rust spot. I am not wanting just the spot "fixed" I am wanting the entire body panel removed and replaced. Never say never but I am going this route because this should solve the problem. This would leave no apparent visible or unbroken paint surface remaining. Dis-assembly is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you will find, on any vehicle regardless of the repair and mine would be no exception.

I have seen the finished work that this shop turns out and as picky of a customer as I am, I have been impressed. That is why I have tried twice to get them to give me an estimate. I just don't want to wait 6 months to get an estimate and then another 6 months to get the work done.
