Everything Went Very Smoothly
We've wanted a pool for six years. My wife and I were researching all kinds of pool companies and we went with the best reviews, so we went with Anthony & Sylvan. We like the color and shape of our pool. We like that it seems bigger than it actually is, like it's an 18,000 gallon, but it's nice and deep. All the workers that came were good and cleaned up nicely. For the most part, everything went very smoothly. The schedulers were good. Every time we need to get a hold of them, they would get to us. The project manager was good too, for the most part. Any question we had, they made time to come out.
The only thing is that we wished things were explained to us a little more clearly. From our house looking out toward the fence, we look at our pool. Most pools would have a retaining wall. When they told us where they were going to put the pool, they said, ""After the landscape, it would be fine."" I figured landscape in general, like a yard landscape. But when they dug the pool, we realized that they dug out eight inches from the height of our ground on the backside to level it out. It's something that wasn't explained in the beginning part of it and everything was in a rush. We were trying to figure out what to do and by the time we figured it out, they were already coming with steel to lay down and get ready for the concrete. Things went so fast, we didn't have time to stop them.
By the time they came to the pool's new retaining wall, they're adding up $1500 dollars. They told me, ""You have to pay outright right then because your loan was already approved."" By the time they gave us the price quote, two days later, they're already pouring concrete. What should have happened is that they should have called me and we should have stopped everything at that point after we figured out what to do. By then it was already too late. We've already been landscaping around the pool and we had to go around the retaining wall. We made it through landscaping and the retaining wall, but it cost more money. It went in a different direction than what we were wanting.
I'd still recommend Anthony & Sylvan. My kids are dying to get into the pool. My daughter got in it already even though it's freezing cold. It's a nice patio space we have out there. When they laid out the patio, they thought there was enough space, but I said I want it bigger. That's why they were very happy to come out and redo that, and added about 200+ square feet of more patio and concrete around the pool, and that was nice. I'd love to be able to be in that pool, enjoy it with the family, friends can come over, and have everybody out.
