Not sure what just happened
Needed emergency service for my refrigerated air unit. When I spoke to the answering service, they stated the diagnostic call after hours price was $140. Spoke to a tech, who told me he was on a call and had 2 more after that. Because of this, he explained the diagnostic call would now cost $189 because it was "overtime" He also advised that parts would be more expensive because THEY were on "overtime" When I said I understood about the labor being more expensive because of after hours, I did NOT understand why PARTS would be more expensive. He stated that was just the way they priced them. He tried to talk me into calling tomorrow, but I told him that I had no interest in doing business that charged higher prices for "parts on overtime" By the time he had finished his estimate, with all of the overtime penalties on labor and PARTS, we were up to $900...
