I would have to say steer clear of Mr. Handyman of Wheaton-Hinsdale. That's what I've been telling all my friends, a lot of whom are single ladies looking for help around their houses. I hired Mr. Handyman to seal a stamped concrete patio. The first step was a power wash of the patio, which was done by one of the Mr. Handyman employees. He was a very, very nice person. He did a wonderful job and was engaging and acted appropriately professional with me. After that, I had to wait a few days for the sealers to arrive. That day, I arrived at my house about ten minutes after they did and they had already started the sealing process. Unfortunately, they neglected to check the cleanliness of the patio first to retouch some dirty spots that had shown up after the first power wash. Instead, they sealed the dirt right into the coating. I went out right away to speak with them and their reaction was unfriendly and not at all accommodating. They didn't look me in the eye or act professionally. They were sub-contractors of Mr. Handyman, not direct employees. But I paid Mr. Handyman a lot of money for this job and I'm sure the men doing the sealing coat were being paid well. The kicker was that when I called Mr. Handyman to resolve the problem, they didn't attempt to make it right or offer any restitution. Mr. Handyman didn't send anyone out to look at the patio. I had to send pictures. Even then, I didn't get a response. The silence is deafening. This is no way to run a business. I actively advise my friends not to use Mr. Handyman of Wheaton-Hinsdale.
