Ripped Off
I was incredibly overcharged by this company. Please, do not use them. I was preparing my house for sale and used their plumbing department to fix two toilet fill valves and replace a shower cartridge. They charged $350 for that work which seemed reasonable. Once my house sold, the home inspector identified a few HVAC items to repair (clean unit coils and repair leaking condensate PVC piping). Seemed like minor repairs. I called Choates again hoping for another positive experience. Oh, no. First the repair technician did not have the needed parts - PVC pipe, really!? He had to leave and come back. He was at my home a total of 2 hours and brought in a 10 ft stick of PVC pipe which maybe cost $30. I was charged nearly $1500. That's not a typo - $1500! I was too tired of working with multiple contractors and getting bids to argue at this point in the sale of my home to get it done. Next, I had one of the toilets the earlier plumbing group worked on act up again. So I called Choates again hoping it would be covered by a warranty, but no. I was charged another $150 for the repair because I had supplied the fill valve on the original repair. I was very disappointed with this company at this point. These were minor issues I wish I had the time to do myself instead of wasting my money. I won't call them again.
