We recently hired Rhino Shield Gulf South to apply the 25 year protective coating product to our home. This was an expensive undertaking, but we performed a ROI analysis (Return on Investment), and it looked like it made good financial sense versus the alternative of repainting the house every few years. We looked forward to leaving the home to our son, who would get it maintenance free for a period of years. We had used a similar product before, in California, so we did have some experience with this type of product.

The painters who came to apply the product were simply amazing. They were timely, clean, professional, and did an exemplary job. They absolutely cleaned the work area up, and left everything in terrific shape. It was a monstrous undertaking, and they did a fantastic job. I have nothing but good things to say about the people who came out to do the job. And, what I will discuss below has nothing at all to do with them.

But, I have do have some issues with the contract, and the product. About two months after the job was finished, some rust began showing through the coating. I was told this would not happen. But, when it did, I got a second surprise. The 25 year warranty does not cover the repair! What good is a 25 year warranty if it doesn't even cover rust coming through the coating after two months! I have some real issues with that! This seems to be both a contract problem, and a problem with the coating product itself!
