This company was referred by my Insurance company, After I called in for the tow yesterday , I waited 2 ½ hours for the tow due to one or more cancellation, then to have the last tow company show up and tell me he will only tow my car if I either follow him or ride with him to secure my own car, I have never heard of such a thing. I spoke with the dispatcher prior to his arrival, that the dealer ship was aware of the late arrival (a major dealership), they have a key drop off, and cameras onsite, etc, he refused to take my car. This was very poor customer service, and lack of communication, since I spoke with the dispatcher prior and made him aware I needed to leave and I wanted to leave the key in the car. I explained everything to him, all he told me was I needed to be there when the driver arrived, (I stayed.) , he advise that I explain to the driver my situation, if your policy is to always have someone go with the driver after hours then he could have told me this at the time of our conversation and I would have cancelled the tow, and save us both the time and the money. Since he sent him out anyway this leaves me to believe its optional as to who they deem comfortable enough to take the car without the owner. The driver sat out in front of my house for 10 minuets on the phone, I went to the window he ignored me, when I tap on the window he put his finger up like who ever he was talking to was more important than me. when he finally came to door he told me he would not take my car unless I went to secure it my self. I believe he showed up knowing, I wasn’t able to go with him just so he would still receive his fee, just for showing up, I believe it’s a scam and I am very dissatisfied with this service. That towing company is Thompson's Auto & Towing. If the towing company has such poor communication, I hate to see what the auto repair service is like. Maybe this information should be disclose before you take people's money.....from my experience most people don't have time to go secure there own car.
