Satisfied with customer service; satisfied with everything, but they lost a precious, irreplaceable item.
I used Arpin Van Lines Inc. when I moved from Illinois to Florida two years ago.
My father passed away recently, and there were items of his that I wanted to be transported from Illinois to Florida. I decided to use Arpin Van Lines Inc. again. During both moves, the customer service was great. I really liked the moving coordinator I dealt with. They moved my furniture, including a huge curio cabinet, without a mark on it. I was impressed. Everything I arranged to be transported from my father's house arrived safely except for one picture. Arpin had sent a small truck to pick up the items from my father's house and those items were then transferred to the semi at some later point. I think that's when the picture got lost. Arpin talked to the driver, Corey, and he said he didn't have it. They looked for the picture for two months. At first, they thought it got dropped at another residence, but they checked and that person denied that they had it. They did reimburse me $400 or $450, and they didn't dispute the dollar amount. I was reimbursed for the picture, but it was the sentimental value that made it irreplaceable. There will be a time that I will move some stuff back to Illinois, and I now have some hesitation about Arpin, but I will use them again. The two guys who moved me from Illinois to Florida two years ago were the nicest guys and they gave us time to decide where to put the stuff and so forth, as they brought it into the house. They had also gone out of their way to make sure everything was packed correctly. When I used Arpin Van Lines Inc. to move my dad's stuff, they did take extra time packing it up, but the delivery was rushed. I felt when my father's items were delivered that I was the last one on the drop, and I felt like they kind of rushed the job, like they were ready to get off work for the day. The customer service with Arpin Van Lines Inc. is wonderful. They will really work with you. I'm just very disappointed at the loss of that picture.
