Nice to your face but they "fixed" my car, charged us +$200 and we had to bring it back to the shop the next day!
My car died before Christmas 2009 but I did not have the money to fix it until February. My boyfriend and I had my car towed to Midas and told them what had been happening. The car had just stopped running. Nothing was turning on, including the light when we opened the door. We asked them to look at the Alternator as the battery had just been replaced not too long before.
While testing the car the discovered that the rear window defrost had not been shutting off. They decided that was the problem before even looking at the alternator. $200 and 2 days later I had my car back. I went out that night, only to have the car die again, in a public parking lot. The battery had frozen and been thawed out, so we replaced that thinking it had been ruined when it froze. The car worked for a few hours, but again died later in the day, again in a public parking lot.
When we towed the car back to Midas, they looked at it for a couple hours, phoned us back and let us know that after everything, it was the Alternator!
We then had to pay an additional $428 to have a new Alternator installed.
