Never use Midas in Slidell for anything. My back drum brakes were making noise and they advertise an $89.00 brake job.

Well they called me and told me that my drums were so gouged up that they could not even get one side up. My brake shoes were worn completely out, my wheel cylinders were bad and my hardware inside was bad too. They said it would cost me $760.00.

Whoa!!!!! That did not sound right. I told them to put it back together and if come pick it up. They tried to get me to get a Midas credit card or write 3 checks and they would cash them at certain times, the last being 30 days from now. NOPE, told him I was coming to get it.

I called pep-boys and told them (based on what Midas told me) what I needed and they were about $450.00. Thanks but that was still too much.

Decided me and Kim's dad would buy the parts and do it ourself. We paid $239.00 for the parts and then we ended up calling a Mechanic who was deer hunting. He said he would do it if we could wait till 3:30.

We brought him all the parts and dropped the truck off. 20 min later he was done and said that NONE of those parts were bad other than the shoes. Everything else was good. My truck has new back brakes. Paid the mechanic $100.00. He stopped hunting on his day off to fix my truck. He saved me a ton of money.

Midas was going to charge me $760.00 when all I needed was $36.00 brake shoes. I'm sure they run that scheme on many people who just end up paying it.

BEWARE OF YOU TRY TO USE MIDAS ON GAUSE NEAR FRONT STREET.

I will never go back and will tell everyone I know not to either.

I will also be calling them Monday and letting them know.
