We had some rattling sounds coming from our furnace and the heat was not coming on when it should have. The rattle was coming from the inducer so that was replaced. While the tech visited I asked a lot of questions about the heater as well as other things like how to better run the humidifier water from the pump to a drain. He was very helpful and also suggested I use water alarms so I know when there is a water problem in the basement. While he was there he also noticed the gas pressure being low when the furnace was on at the same time as the water heater. Xcell came out to turn up the pressure.
After the inducer was installed he cleaned the system as requested. A few days later we noticed the heat was still not coming on when it should. I think with all the issues, that issue was overlooked by him and us both. A second guy came out to add a new set of eyes although I would have been fine with the first guy. Turned out a few wires were loose. The heat runs fine now and we’re glad we went ahead and replaced the inducer and had the cleaning done.
