They have a no returns policy but they don't tell you about it.
This is my first time submitting s negative review, but I feel customers need to know.
I recently went to the Edmonton South location to get flooring for a project I’d been working on. Brian was very helpful in finding product to match the sample I had with me. I’d calculated roughly how much I’d need and added 10% just to be sure.
Brian checked his computer and told me that he didn’t have it in stock and would have to bring it in. I was fine with that and picked it up a few days later.
Upon completion of my project I had about a box and a half left over, I decided to return the unopened box since I didn’t really have a need for it. This is where everything went horribly wrong.
Had I known this in the beginning I wouldn’t have ordered the extra box.
Upon entering the store, I was told “this is a CS item, you can’t return it” Confused, I asked, “why is that”? Only then did Brian tell me that it was a “Special Order item”. This was the first time I’d heard that phrase. When I asked why he didn’t tell me that when I was ordering it, he looked at me sneered and said “that’s common sense, everybody knows that”. Then the other employee at the counter (I didn’t get his name) took my copy of the work order and hi-lighted the fine printed line on the bottom of the page ‘there are no returns on all special order products’. And said, “what are we supposed to do with one box?” I expressed my dissatisfaction saying this was wrong in so many ways, but they both just shrugged and looked at their computer screens, completely dismissing the conversation.
I understand this was probably just an oversight in not telling me about the policy in the beginning, but the way these two employees acted towards me was nothing short of rude, disrespectful, and extremely unprofessional. I knew early into my visit that in no way were they ever going to look for a reasonable resolution to the situation. Which prompted me to write this review.
I like to recommend that you post your ‘No Return’ policy for everyone to see and not just have it in fine print at the bottom of a page, so future customers don’t get blindsided like I did.
