Fraudulent Advertising
I selected a the door I wanted. My advisor wrote up a bill and we both signed it after he'd called the office from my kitchen placing my order. He gave me the price with a $200 discount for an O"Brien coupon I got in the mail. He came back to my house about 30 minutes later and said they'd made a mistake. The door I wanted was actually $1200 to $1300 more than I was quoted even though I had a signed agreement. I understand mistakes can happen, so I agreed to select another door. However, they would not let me use the coupon on the second choice door I wanted after they reneged on our original agreement. The coupon clearly stated $200 off on Carriage House doors. However, the company said the coupon was not good on that particular Carriage House door. I was outraged at that point and ended the deal. The coupon did not distinguish for which Carriage House doors the coupon was valid. They cashed my deposit check electronically immediately. It has been a week and I still have not received my refund. I am also reporting them to the Better Business Bureau for fraudulent advertising and theft of my money. My experience with O'Brien Doors was a complete disaster. I felt sorry for my salesman as he was only following what he was clearly told by the company on the phone. He was misled and so was I.
