We used Charles Wood & Son Moving when we sold our home and had to move some of our stuff to our new place and put some goods in storage. We also moved some goods to my daughter. Our main complaint is that although the goods we moved to Florida was okay, when we took out some of our things from storage, we discovered there had been a lot of unnecessary damage to the furniture. It wasn't what you'd expect to be damaged though. We lived in Hong Kong for five years and had a lot of things shipped back. Usually, it is glassware where the damage takes place. In this instance, there was only one crystal item that got broken.
Our bedroom set was ruined. We had an antique piece where they split the leg from the body. They slashed a loveseat. They also damaged a cane bench we had. The people were very nice; we have no complaints there. When I spoke to the guy he was very nice. But he didn't really help out much. They told us we would get a call from the insurance people. They haven't called and we haven't gotten any insurance money. It seems that they didn't adequately wrap and pad the stuff. They used just cardboard and not felt. My wife overheard the foreman yell at a worker, "This is what happens when you don't wrap properly." There is really no excuse for that. The furniture was gouged, not merely scratched. They just weren't careful. They had gotten wonderful reviews when we checked, which is why used them. But it was not a good experience for us.
