Rocky Thornton was very nice initially, but then started ignoring my calls and not responding prompty, would only respond promptly. I placed the order in May 2018 for pickup in May 26th 2018 from Newark DE to Austin TX; it was a full pack move. The contracted to a different company and the people arrived for the full pack and moving. Three people came, one of them seemed professional while the others didn't.
They were taking frequent breaks and smoking as well, and then complaining that it is taking too long. Used my bathroom and took strawberries out of my fridge without even asking me. They raised the price over $1300 then the initial quoted price of $5069 for a total of $6558, though I was able to talk to customer service AFTER several emails to get it back down to the original price. They used over 10-15 of my OWN boxes but still the price hike occurred.
While they were packing, they were commenting on everything we had; it was very inappropriate for them to comment on our things. At the end, they asked for a 10-15% tip and throughout the move acted like they were doing me a favor; then at the end, they give you a survey to tell them how they did. Its like you have to give them a good rating because they are standing on top of your head and they have ALL your furniture.
Then they delivered it on 7/3/2018-AFTER more than 5 Weeks; called me 30 minutes before arrival (I was told I would get called 1 day prior); they asked for tip before even starting and as they were pulling stuff out of truck, seemed like they were careless; dropped a couple of boxes (YES I HAVE PICTURES) and lots of items were broken. They lost the screws so couldn't even put my mirror or dresser together. They were sweating and didn't wipe it off, all the sweat was dripping on my apartment floor (YUKH). The TV remote wasn't with the TV either; my wifes several sunglasses pairs were missing (worth over $1000). We counted all the boxes and several of them are missing; I personally went to the truck and looked inside and nothing was there; who knows where they went since it was delivered more than 5 weeks after pick up (I did request myself a June 18th 2018 pickup). When we opened the boxes afterwards, lots of things were broken, damaged, scratched and missing.
At the end, since I refused to give a tip, he added in a elevator charge for $200 so he can get some money out of me. I contacted Arthur Fomin (we initially spoke briefly over the phone after they dropped my boxes from their truck on 7/3/2018, but I left 2 voicemails for him afterwards and HE DID NOT offer me the professional courtesy of a return phone call, but emailed me a claims form, which I REFUSE to do
I REPEAT: PLEASE do not go through Green Van Lines; If you want to hear my experience, please call me at 7142627142 but please DO NOT go through GREEN VAN LINES, which is a company based out of Texas. Have spent over $1000 replacing things that were broken and also spent over $1500 buying a new bedroom set that isn't scratched or missing screws or damaged.
