Terrible Company with False Advertisement: Beware!
Green Van Lines was very persistent in their attempts to establish business with me. They did a very good job of outlining the benefits of using their company. They also guaranteed a superior level of customer service. I expressed my concerns about the use of a third party service to unload my household goods at my final destination. They assured me that they work through their company only, and did not involve third parties. All of what they stated was a complete lie. Once my household goods arrived at my final destination, the "lead guy" was complaining about the layout of my home. He complained about the number of stairs in my home for about 20 minutes. I asked the guy if they could please wear shoe covers, but he replied with, "you should have told us before we got here." He talked to me in such a very rude manner. The crew also refused to place protection on the floors in the entry way of my home. As a result, the hardwood floors of my new home were badly scratched. The walls were also badly damaged. The movers refused to handle my things with care. In fact, they refused to assemble my child's bed. The lead crew member called a guy from the local community and asked him to help. He gave specific instructions for him not to "speak to the homeowner". He eventually fired the guy after about 30 minutes, because the guy that was hired engaged in conversation with me and explained that my floors should have been protected. He eventually divulged that he worked for a local company in my city, and was called to help out because he performs "side jobs" on the weekend. He gave more tips and advice on how the mover should have been better coordinated. The lead crewmember for Green Van Lines told the guy that he was fired and was requested to leave. There are more details, but too much to write. In short, Green Van Lines is a horrible company. They refused to cover the damages, because they stated the repairs were too expensive after I was told to collect a few quotes. They then mentioned that they would send someone over from their company to do the repairs, and followed up with an email indicating they would be willing to provide a settlement of $400. A letter requiring signature was required, where I had to agree to remove any posts with negative comments and agree not to post any negative comments in order for the settlement take place.
