Did great job, just not fast enough!

Took our baby here (smallest GSD out of 4) because he had thick brown snot and blood coming out of his right nostril since last October. Our regular vet was on maternity leave. Other vet put him on rounds of antibiotics. It would clear up then come back after finishing the round. In December our regular vet came back, took X-rays and sent samples from his nose off. Said X-rays looked good but Found different bacteria and at least one that was resistant to antibiotics. She put him on stronger antibiotics. Same thing happened. I requested a specialist. Referral to CARE first but they were booked until June. Then referred here. Got an appointment for March 8. First exam, then scheduled him for a rhinoscopy and CT scan on March 25. Dr. Dulles said he would call with biopsy and lab results. (On the first visit while we waited in the car, I told the office to remove our landline number (from years ago) and put in our cell phone numbers. They called us on these numbers while we waited in the car to inform us of what was happening.) After a month or two went by and I realized I had never heard back from Dr. Dulles, I called CVS. I had to leave a message. He returned my call after several days and said he had left several messages after the results came back. I checked and nothing on our cells but two messages on the old landline!! I am not sure why he didn’t call our cells. This was sooo frustrating. Anyway, he scheduled our baby for a flush on June 8. Dr. Dulles flushed out his nasal cavity 2 times and then saw something. He was able to get out a 2 inch long piece of something with a rubbery texture. Then he flushed him again. Tyler is doing okay but stays congested and still has yellow snot coming out of his right nostril. The great news is no more blood and horrific smell!! Dr. Dulles is very thorough and we so appreciate him flushing our baby 3 times to try and get all the gunk out. The bad news is that since the infection was in him for sooo long, it ate away his nasal cavity so his right nasal cavity is no longer normal. He said he might be prone to infection there now. We don’t know. We have to just wait and see. We are deeply grateful for all that Dr. Dulles and CVS did for our baby boy Tyler. I just wish it had been done in a more timely manner.
