My dog spent 6 hours here with a giant laceration without ever being treated. I took him in at 4:30, waited an hour for them to tell me it would be a few hours so I should go home and wait for their call. I called them at 10:30 and they told me that my dog still was waiting to be treated. At that point, I decided to take him elsewhere since they hadn’t done anything to help him besides putting him in a kennel. When we came to pick him up to take him to another emergency vet, the woman had her thumb pressing on the open wound on his side. He was obviously in pain and afraid, and I’m just so shocked and disappointed by the lack of honesty and communication here. Had they told me the truth that it was not likely that he’d be treated any time soon and would have to stay overnight, I could have taken him elsewhere to get treatment and avoided the $100 exam fee that they charged me to hold my dog for 6 hours and do nothing. I understand that things can get busy, but to have a pet owner waiting hours with no communication or updates when a pet is clearly in pain and has an open wound is really crazy. The Charlotte location was really helpful after this, and I would recommend anyone that can to make the drive to that location rather than the Rock Hill one.
