My 10 yo English bulldog was referred here for nausea, diarrhea and a high bilirubin for overnight monitoring. When I got there, I waited for 2 hours for a “critical care specualist,” Lisa Olsen to come in appearing to care with a complete consult about what could be wrong with him and the litany of tests they were going to perform. Afterwards, a minion came in to hit me with the quote which ranged from $4900 - $20,000. I told them that was ABSURD. The critical care Dr (I say that because she kept using that word to further her monetary agenda) came back and acted as if she were in shock and I was a horrible bully mama for refusing that quote. Thank God my husband came in before I lost my cool, completely. We ended up leaving our baby there overnight for fluids and antibiotics. They charged me $1506 for ONE overnight stay, 2 panels of basic bloodwork and the antibiotic they gave was by mouth, 2 doxycyclines. The only way I could get him out of there without more lectures was to tell her I was putting him down and please believe they wanted the honors of doing that too. No, no and NO. Currently he is in another hospital that cares about him running a couple of tests (not 15 different ones) to give us some answers. Basically it was pay their ridiculously absurd prices OR, let my dogs life be the payment. These are money hungry, inflated ego doctors that couldn’t care any less about your fur family. They exploit your fear and emotions. Let me add that they refused to offer any palliative care as well. What they are doing should be illegal under some type of predatory law. Stay away from these people. Keep your fur child far and away from them too. The whole experience was traumatizing emotionally and financially, a complete waste of money. I’m no closer to knowing what is wrong with my boy than I was when I arrived and out $1500.
