Purchased a used 1906 Kimball upright late Saturday afternoon 3/10/18 at an estate sale in Cottonwood Heights. Everything had to be out of the house the following Monday/Tuesday not giving me much time to move it to my home in East Millcreek. Was referred to Barrus -by piano guys that know- "as the best movers around". Called them- receptionist was polite and made arrangements. Everything went like clockwork. The movers were professional. courteous, and treated the piano and my house with great respect during the move. I had to install on a rock pathway IN MY HOUSE temporarily (I have another up for sale currently in the normal space) so they kindly left one of the their pads to"protect the stone" which I will return to them when the other one sells.. When it does-they will do the move of the Harvard Upright cabinet Grand as well....
Obviously- things had to be done quick on short notice all the way around. This kind of "passion" is so rare in today's world of mediocre "just a job" attitudes that it was remarkable to see and experience for myself. I had already heard these guys were great..If I could give them 10 stars I would!
I wish I could attach a picture of the Kimball- beautiful deep red orange Mahogany wood with carved inlays and carved stool to match... so different from the 'epidemic of black' we see all around us. Rich, deep, exceptional sound. Built to last in America when old world craftsmanship ruled....
