Poor communication and steep "labor" costs
One of my HVAC systems had a leak that was in a part under warranty. Carroll ordered the part but then I never heard back from them. I called after a month and they suddenly had the part and came the next morning. When the part was ordered originally the technician explained that the repair was under warranty but failed to mention that the warranty did not cover labor or refrigerant. So when I came out to check on their progress the two guys explained that for the four hours of labor they were doing the bill was likely to be around $1000. I had to interrupt the technician while he was on a personal phone call to get this information. Most of the time I paid for involved them sitting in the van or on the other HVAC systems while a machine either loaded nitrogen or tested for leaks. If I am going to pay for four hours of "labor" that begins when they get the work order and includes their drive to my house I should not have to pay for them to sit around or make personal phone calls. I hope I did not pay for two workers when one could have done the job.
Most of my dealings with Carroll have been stellar, but this most recent experience was not.
