I moved cross country with this company. They continually misrepresented the details of my move. But the worse was yet to come!!!
The men loading the truck loaded all the boxes I had carefully packed first. Everything I packed made the trip in one piece except for 'water damage' to many of the boxes!
The truck LEAKED in a storm on the trip from San Diego to Central Virginia! They sent this truck with only one driver. The truck had mechanical problems according to the driver in addition he was only allowed to drive a certain number of hours. So the trip took a couple of days longer than expected.
The men that loaded the truck began arguing with each over how to load my expensive solid wood and upholstered furniture. While arguing with each other, they stood, walked and climbed on my unprotected furniture, damaged beautiful wood finishes, walked on a white upholstered custom made Ballard Design recliner, somehow punched a hole in the back of it and left a black mark on it that never came out!!! One of them climbed on an antique hall tree and ripped a hook off it.
Every piece of wood furniture, end tables, night stands, dressers, chests had deep scratches, a chip or gouge!
The moving truck leaked "dirty rain water" on my belongings along the trip cross country. I placed a claim with many dozens of pictures. Every upholstered headboard, 2 mattresses, 2 boxsprings had water damage and soil! It was unbelievable.
It was a nightmare!!!
After unloading I was charged for blankets and wrappings that were not used on my furniture, I refused to pay the couple of hundred dollars additional charges, I had already paid over $11,000 in advance for this nightmare. I realized months later they had charged my credit card that extra materials fee without my approval.
After months of negotiation they sent me a check for $1100 for damages!!! An insult! Wouldn't even pay for reupholstery of that recliner. A tiny fraction of the cost of replacement or repair of valuable possessions.
Do Not Trust THIS Company with your belongings!
