Wednesday night I was working on my computer when the room suddenly went dark and the computer went off. The circuit breaker was thrown and it wouldn't go back to the "on" position and stay there. I called Mr. Sparky the next morning.

An hour or so later Francis showed up. He was friendly, informative and incredibly scrupulous about putting off and on his "booties" every time he left the house for his truck and returned. He checked out the room on the dark circuit and heard me say that something had "popped" and everything went dark. From that clue he wanted to hear a "pop." I offered to throw the circuit breaker and he heard what he needed.

A few minutes later he was up the ladder and taking down an antique light fixture that was reacting to high-temp light bulbs and over-heating. He took several pictures of deteriorating bulb and socket surfaces to pass down to me for inspection. He removed the fixture, recommended a place that repaired antique lights, covered the wiring in the ceiling and made sure there were no other problems that might have been masked by the chandelier. He also noted that LED lights would burn at much lower temperatures.

With the lights and computer all working, he replaced the plug and switch plates and inspected the GFI outlets in the rest of the house and then outside at the meter. The job was done perfectly and in an educational fashion. He was very patient with my questions and thorough in his answers. He was a terrific ambassador for Mr. Sparky and their company vision.
