Race day ready with CFC!

I started working out at CFC about two years ago. I was looking for an effective way to cross train and stay fit while recovering from a running injury. Having tried other group classes before, I didn’t have too many expectations. Let me tell you, I was wrong!
Not only was I instantly welcomed to the friendly and enthusiastic bootcamp ‘family’, but I also noticed the results very quickly.
The workouts are designed in a way that enables to hit every aspect of fitness including upper, lower body and core strength, balance, cardio, agility and speed. Tom incorporates many sport specific moves such as suicides, band resistance running, skipping and football drills.
The workouts are always challenging but never leave you completely wiped out. Being a very experienced trainer, Tom can tell right away where you are in your fitness and will push you as much as you need to get to the next level.
I knew CFC works from the beginning but my biggest surprise came when I ran a half marathon last week. I hadn’t been able to do any race training or any running at all outside of bootcamp. I started at my normal half marathon pace and promised myself I’d slow down if it became too hard (since I wasn’t ‘race fit’). Long story short, I finished 78th out of over 10.000 women, 25th in my age group and was just 5 minutes short of my personal best!
