3 Guys Moving

Ignore your estimate- it's by the hour

First- this company did work with me during several date changes for my move. They are reachable and responsive during business hours.
However, my move was a move out one day and my possessions held overnight, then delivery to new residence the next day after back to back closings. I had been given a "moving estimate" in advance for budgeting. You can ignore this. The company is strictly a time and quantity moving company. I had built in mileage and overnight hold built in to my estimate, but on the move in day, a new move cost sheet was initiated. I had paid in full the day before, and even left a generous tip. Once my items were unloaded, I was given a brand new bill the days move. I spoke with several company personnel on the phone while the movers were there. I was told repeatedly, it's by the hour. By the way, the company is called 3 guys moving- they sent 2 full capacity workers, and 1 elderly gentleman who could hardly walk, and dropped my floor scrubber on his first unload off the truck. He stayed in the truck the remainder of the move. Bottom line- ignore your estimate. It will cost you strictly on time it takes, and items you checked off on your moving list. I was told there were many additional boxes to move that weren't listed on my moving item list. I had not packed all my belongings yet, so did not guess an amount that would need moved. So- I recommend putting down a generous estimate of how many boxes you will need moved, and ignore your estimate. I will never use this company again.

Our estimates are based on the information provided by the customer. If in fact the customer has more items than anticipated, then the final bill with reflect that. We do not intentionally try to deceive any of our customers. For example: If a customer tells us that they will have about 30 boxes, we estimate based on that. Now when we get out there on move day and and we find that they have 140 boxes, then it will take more time for the move to finish, and yes the move cost will be more than the estimated cost.
