I selected Golden Spike because of the Tom Martino 'seal of approval' (which proved to be a mistake). I needed some roof leaks fixed, and 'Spike' sent a couple of guys who smeared sealant along a few valley seams and pipe jacks - I called him and told him I wasn't satisfied with the 'repairs', and to his credit he did come to my house to attempt to correct what his repair guys failed to do. The next major downpour and all the leaks continued. I made the mistake of writing-off the experience and paying his bill - $300 to $400. I wrote on the invoice that accompanied my payment that I still had the leaks. A few weeks later I received a voicemail message from Spike's receptionist that they had not "forgotten me" regarding the persistent leaks. Problem is, they had my money and I never heard from them again. I wrote Martino twice about the situation and was never contacted. I don't think GSR is a totally awful business, but given my experience they are a far cry from a 5 star firm.
