We needed 28 windows replaced on a house we were renovating. I called a couple window dealers. CDW's price was not the best, but competitive. Went with them because they promised 4-5 week delivery and they install. When the due date neared, I checked in on when they would be installed. I was given the run around on who to speak with, and was told "should be next week" for about 4 weeks. On installation date, which was 5 weeks later than what they had promised, I started checking the windows to make sure they were all tempered, which I ordered because it is in a fire danger area. They were not, about 80% of the windows were wrong. The installation crew basically said, not our problem and kept installing the windows. I called the salesman and the production manager to let them know they were not tempered. They both said, "don't worry, they should be tempered". The windows did not have the etching specifying that they were tempered, so they would not pass building inspection. After the windows were almost completely installed, I got a call from the production manager to tell me that he ordered the glass wrong and that they would swap out all of the glass in place. I waited another 3-4 weeks for the new glass and when they came out, they were missing 8 of the 24 windows. They replaced what they had and I waited several more weeks for them to come out with the missing glass. They showed up again missing 2 windows and 2 were ordered wrong again. Finally, nearly 4 months after the initial "due date", the windows are correct. During the whole process, I could never get a straight answer out of anyone in customer service and the production manager just dodged my calls. The only people that would call me were the accounting department asking when I was going to make my final payment. This whole fiasco delayed my project and cost me time and money. I would not only never recommend CDW to any one, I tell anyone asking me about window companies to stay away from CDW.
