This was my first and only time using Decker's Carpet Cleaning. First off, the work they did was fair--not great, but fair. What bothered me was that I was given a price over the phone for a special they were supposedly running. They scheduled me for two rooms of carpet to be cleaned. The office person I spoke to I had asked specifically about any limitations on the room size. They said no limit. When they came out to do the work the technician began measuring the rooms by the square foot. The tech then gave me a different price entirely higher. When I explained to him that I was given the quote over the phone for the special, the tech fully blamed the office. He said that the people setting the appointments always do that and they forget to tell the customer that there are room size limitations. He wished they would not do that. At that point, I said I was going to cancel. So after a long debate about it, the technician agreed to clean the carpets for the price I was quoted over the phone. I ended up paying the amount that I was originally quoted. I never would have called them had I known they were going to do that. It is not right and very dishonest. Again, after the work was completed it was just a fair job. I was expecting more from them after all they put out about themselves as having high ratings. For what I paid, I guess it worked out okay, but never again! I was asking around telling people about my experience and I was surprised to hear that many people had the exact same experience. They were given one quote over the phone by the appointment-setters --and then when the tech came out, they upped the price. Decker's Carpet Cleaning made me feel like it was the old bate and switch.
