poor and rude services received after signing the contract

I had signed a contract with Bellari to replace two windows and a patio door at my house. The sales person was nice and we signed a contract within an hour. I had another appointment with Window & Door Outlet within the week. Their estimate was slightly lower. However, I decided to go ahead with Bellari since the contract was already signed.

After not hearing from Bellari in a few weeks, I brought out the contract sheet to call them. Then I noticed a hand written note saying Bellari would charge a 3% processing fee on credit card payment.

I talked to my sales person Gary Crusch. He told me that he'd talk to the owner and see if the fee could be waived. Gary never called back. Since he didn't call back, I assumed everything was fine.

In the mean time I had a scheduled installation for October 12th. On October 10th, I called Gary back to make sure that the credit card fee was waived. He didn't answer my call. The operator said she'd give him the message and I should hear from him shortly. After a couple of hours I called back and had the same experience.

Finally, he called back and said that the credit card fee would not be waived. I was irritated. Anyway, I started the process of transferring funds to my checking account. I was told that it might take 3-5 business days for the money transfer. The next day I called the company and asked if I could write a post-dated check for $4158 upon installation. it'd be dated 5 days later to make sure the check did not bounce.

The owner of the company called back. He was very polite in the beginning. But as the conversation went on, he started showing his true color. He said he'd not accept a post dated check (by three days). He'd not compromise with the credit card fee waiver. I told him that he has to then reschedule the installation in February since we'd be out of the country for three months.

At that point, he said he'd do that upon receiving full payment. I asked him what kind of an owner is he who doesn't want to accept a very reasonable request from a customer. I wondered what kind of a businessman is unwilling to any compromise, yet demands full payment before the project is completed! He has no answer for it.

Then he became personal. He had the audacity to ask me why did I order the door when I didn't have the money! At that point I told him to install it the following Tuesday. That day we had plans for our most important religious festival. But I cancelled it because I didn't want to deal with him any more.

I am shocked how unresponsive and rude he was and I want the readers to know it.
