This job required a very simple installation of patio shades. There were 4 steps to the directions and the job should have taken less than an hour. The technician moved slowly and appeared confused and intimidated by the installation process. He must have read the instructions 20 times and did not appear confident about the install. He also made 6 trips to his truck. All he needed was a ladder and a drill but he did find time for a cigarette. The entire installation took two full hours when it was easily a 30 minute process.

An easy job that took two hours impacted by lack of confidence and skill? The screws are crooked and not completely drilled into the concrete.

Nancy – thank you for your feedback. We always solicit feedback so that we may deal with any issues that may arise. You have not returned the call and message we left for you three days ago, so I thought I’d respond here in the hopes of getting your attention.

The patio of your home is poured cement with stucco over it. This lead to a few complications that I don’t think you are accounting for in your feedback. First, the mounting brackets and anchors that came with shades assumed they would be mounted on drywall over wood, not into cement. With a bit of searching on the van, we found some Tapcon’s that would work for your situation, but cement is much harder to drill into that drywall and the rough stucco coating on your porch doesn’t allow the brackets to sit completely flush with the wall where they are mounted. We might be able to scrape/grind the stucco down, but that might be a future issue if the blinds are ever removed. That’s something we can discuss if you return our call.

Finally to the point of taking longer than required, I’ll again point out that we were drilling into cement and that the work was completed for the cost that you had agreed to and approved prior to anything being done. I understand that everybody hopes their project can be done more quickly, and at a lower cost, but both you and us want to ensure that it’s all done properly. If we’ve done something improperly we’ll gladly address it …. Simply return our call and we’ll setup a return visit.
