Mr. Handyman serving Greater Jacksonville has come out here a few times. The previous time we had someone come out was to fix our fence. He was able to fix the gate and latch on the fence. He was prompt, polite, professional and knowledgeable. If I had to do star ratings based on his service I would say five-plus, he was a really good worker with good ethics, good professionalism and he was knowledgeable. He was a good worker and based on his performance we called them out again to fix the threshold in our door. It has a gap under it and I don't want snakes or other critters to get into the house. The man who showed up was so thin he looked either sickly or drunk. He did not know what he was doing. He said we would need a new door, but there is nothing wrong with the door itself. He went and bought a strip and put it under the door then charged us $175. I looked at these strips at the hardware store and they are only $20. He kept on insisting we need a new door and wanted $600. So I ended up using a handyman that my brother uses and he fixed the threshold with a proper strip that screwed in and that raised the threshold for $30. I am not trying to talk out of turn about the person from Mr. Handyman who came out but that was the impression he sent out to my wife and myself, that when I paid him the $175 that he charged for the strip to fix the threshold that he would go out to a bar. Now with one very good experience with them and one terrible experience, I do not know if I would use Mr. Handyman serving Greater Jacksonville again.
