24/7 service is a false statement!!!! This a is the 3rd issue we've had with a $16000 new unit in less than a year. The owner, Keith Schmidt, gave me his cell phone number the last time with assurances to call him if anything was needed. 5 phone calls to him and another 5 to his answering service....nope...not one callback from Keith or a technician. So ... If you, Mr. Keith Schmidt, owner of Schmidt Mechanical, stand behind your word, why didn't you, come out and assist with our issues with our $16,000. AC unit purchased from you just a little over a year ago in July 2015!! If you didn't have a technician to facilitate the on call service as stated throughout your advertisement, then "man up" as the OWNER of SCHMIDT MECHANICAL, don't hide behind an answering service... OWN IT.. After all.. It is YOUR COMPANY!

Recent Review postings by Cynthia & Ken Lucas, San Antonio, TX 78260, alleging various shortcomings of Schmidt Mechanical Group, Inc. that are false. It is obvious that Mr. & Mrs. Lucas recollection of events cited in this review were not based in fact and forced me to respond with this letter and the facts of the matter with reference to documents in my files to support what I state in this letter.

Since the 2015 installation of a new system Schmidt Mechanical has been to the Lucas residence twice for service issues. 1st visit was the day after installation and the technician adjusted the temperature on the thermostat and found no issue with the system. It was simply user issues and the Lucas’s didn’t attempt to adjust the set point… they were not charged. You will find one star reviews from the Lucas family dating back to September 6th, 2015 for this incident. The second call on 4/23/16 Invoice # 1550-6320 was for a restricted drain line. The technician advised Mr. Lucas to put vinegar in the drain once every 30-60 days. This was due to lack of drain line maintenance by the Lucas’.

9/7/2016 – Keith Schmidt the owner of Schmidt Mechanical Group woke to find 13 missed calls’, 4 text messages, 3 voice mails, and multiple horrible one star reviews from Mr. Lucas with the BBB, Google, Yelp, Customer Lobby, etc. The harassing and threatening calls were all between the hrs. of 10:30pm-12:30am. Keith Schmidt reached out to Ken Lucas at 6:45am and was attacked to the extent of the safety of himself and the Schmidt Mechanical Group staff was questioned.

After listening to the voice messages and text messages the office was not comfortable sending a technician to the Lucas residence. Schmidt Mechanical Group, Inc. is not under contract with the Lucas family and their 1 yr. labor warranty with Schmidt Mechanical Group has expired.

One of the most important criteria for the delivery of air conditioning service is a polite, effective, comfortable and open avenue for communication. Additionally, shared confidence between the customer and Schmidt Mechanical staff is an essential component of an effective relationship. Unfortunately the harassing phone calls, voice mails, text messages, online reviews, and the Lucas’ overall attitude towards Schmidt Mechanical have made it impossible for us to communicate in that manner.

As a result of the above listed incident, Schmidt Mechanical will be unable to provide any further service to the Lucas family after September 7, 2016.
