Two days ago I phoned Done to check out why my hot water tank was over pressuring. they said someone would be by between 2 and 4 that day, which was awesome. They also called me when they were on the way, and were in fact early, which was great. Justin showed up, and was very professional and curteous. He answered all my questions and explained what he thought the problem was. Two valves, the tenk pressure relief valve and the house line presssure regulator, needed to be changed.
Fair enough I thought. However,the price he quoted me to change 2 valves was $850.00. Since I have little plumbing experience myself, I told him I would have to think about it. That evening I youtubed how to change the valves. The next day I went to Home Depot, bought the 2 valves for $45.00, and replaced them in 20 minutes.
I understand they have to make a profit, but it seems a little rediculous to be charging 19 times what the products cost, especially for such an easy fix.
