This was the first time I ever used Overhead Door Company of Greater Syracuse. My home was built in 1930, and the garage door and mechanism is the original one put in 90 years ago. This one still used chains and huge springs. I was having some problems, so I called them and they sent out an older gentleman to look at it. Luckily, he was old enough to know all about these kind of doors. Parts are no longer available, and I was afraid I would just have to replace the door. But he was able to modify the chain and the bracket fitting and keep it working. He did not stop there. He went ahead and checked out all the brackets on that door, and on the other "antique" door. He greased everything up, and even checked out the motor to make sure it was able to handle the load. He really went out of his way for us to make sure the whole problem was addressed. He was a nice person, and a good conversationalist. He also prepared us for the possibility that it would take quite a while to fix the door, but it didn't. He managed to get everything fixed, checked out, and lubed up in about an hour. He really knew what he was doing, and he didn't just treat the problem as a "busted door," but checked out the whole system. I really appreciate that and I highly recommend Overhead Door Company of Greater Syracuse!
