Plumbing Express

The technician was inexperienced!

Plumbing Express gets only one star from me based on the technician who came out. When he arrived, before he had even come into the house or put on his booties, he asked me if there was anything else besides what I called him for that I wanted him to look at. I said no, but he asked if anyone had ever checked my water pressure because if it was too high it could affect warranties on my products. He went around and checked it, found that it was too high, and asked me if I wanted him to send someone else out to fix it. I said no. Then he came in for what I called about. I showed him the bathroom tub and told him about something another plumbing company did wrong to it. Without testing it himself, he took twenty minutes to write up and give me a quote. I had to be at work by ten o'clock, so I asked him if it would be done by then. He said yes, so I signed to get the work done. He went out to the truck, came back with tools, and finally looked at the tub. Then I heard him on the phone talking to someone about the job. I asked him if it was going to be hard, but I could already tell it would take a while because he was going to have to get parts from Home Depot. But he continued to tinker and finally told me the closest place to get the part was forty minutes each way. By then it would be ten AM and the job wouldn't be completed before I had to get to work. He continued to work on the tub and took it all apart. Then he put it all back together and presented me with a one-hundred-seventy-one dollar bill. When I made the appointment, the office had told me the visit would be a thirty-nine dollar service fee that would be applied against the cost of the repair. When I told him it was only supposed to be thirty-nine dollars, there was some back and forth about the higher fee, which I wouldn't pay. He didn't argue, but got in his car and left.
