My 16 year old Maltese had stopped eating and my regular vet was closed, so I brought Lola to the Hollywood VCA. Dr. Fishkin was on duty. Instead of giving her fluids, and a shot to stimulate her appetite, Dr. Fishkin insisted that she needed a feeding port inserted in her neck. Lola was only 6 lbs and had trachea issues, so I was very hesitant to have such an invasive procedure done. Dr. Fishkin arrogantly said that she was THE ONLY Dr. with the skill to perform the surgery, and that she would not be there the following day. When I expressed my concerns she intimated that my concern was based on the cost, and that the surgery was absolutely necessary to save her. So I said ok. 45 minutes later, she came out to tell me they COULD NOT successfully regulate the anesthesia, so they had to abort the procedure. When they brought her out, she looked like she wouldn't last the day. The trauma of sedation had almost killed her. They still charged me about $1100.00. I brought her home, and nursed her back to health over the next 5 days. Dr. Fishkin is 100% the absolute worst, most rude and uncaring vet I have ever had the misfortune to meet. I would not let this woman touch any pet of mine EVER. Terrible experience, terrible doctor.
