Looking around for solutions to replace my under performing Isilon for a NFS DataStore for my VMware environment. After reading about the benifits of ZFS, and looking for solutions. Bang for the buck ended at iX Systems and TrueNAS. A 3U system running TrueNAS and 14 NL-SAS drives out performed the aging Isilon with over 120 SATA spindles(both same 7.2k spindle speed).

I went from 16U of space in my Co-Location to 3U and performed better on my small 200 VM environment. Great Stuff!
