The folks at Abbey Carpet and Floor were really helpful in the showroom. We brought our one-year-old daughter in there and they pretty much let her run around and play with things and didn't give us any grief about it, which I thought was pretty neat. They spent a lot of time with us choosing the right design and sent us home with a ton of samples to look at. When we made the decision they quickly ordered the material and gave us a realistic time-frame for when it would be delivered and installed.

As soon as the installation was done they followed up with us about the quality. As far as the install itself, the only negative thing was that they only had one laborer come to our house and with the demolition required it took him six business days to complete the floor. I think they could have had it done a lot faster with 2-3 guys. I did really appreciate the work he did, though. He took time to highlight issues with the sub-floor even though they weren't contracted to do that. When he found simple, quick repairs, he just did without asking me and told me about it later so I would know what he did and why.

The floors we went with were exotic hickory engineered hardwood. I would definitely use their service again. The best advice, I would say, is to trust their design thoughts, and to bring some pictures of your home or the room you'd like to install, because they'll help you find pictures of similar homes they've done so you can see what it will look like and you're not just working with a mental image.
