Very Bad Experience

We spent more than $13,000 on flooring, and their installers didn't finish the job. We bought carpet for 3 rooms, and engineered wood flooring for 4 rooms. The carpet installation went fine, but the wood installation did not. The demo crew damaged a tile that was to remain, and we told them countless times to be careful as we had no replacement tiles. They never did anything to make amends for damaging the tile in a prominent location in the kitchen. So more than 2 months later, they have not contacted us to repair the tile or finish adding the trim or threshold. Unfortunately, the bank has already paid them because they lied to the bank by telling them the job was complete. We never signed the paperwork releasing final payment!

Karen, we understand that you are upset a tile was broken during the removal of your existing wood floors. Unfortunately, when your floors were originally installed by the builder, liquid nail was used to glue down the t-mold dividing the two surfaces. Additionally, the tile was hollow underneath and, with the combined challenges, the company you hired direct to do the demo inadvertently broke the one tile in the doorway. It was simply not preventable. Because you singed a contract with a different company and paid them directly to complete the demo, it was not a part of our contract with you. We did not lie to anyone.

As a gesture of goodwill, we offered to replace the tile with a decorative border to match your kitchen backsplash or with a floor tile, if one could be found to match. We called several times and left messages for you. We actually sent our tile installer to your home to replace the tile and was told that you wanted to wait. We are still willing and want to help you but, we have to know what you want to do.
