Not pleased wtih experience

TLC charges $69 to come out to the property. This is a pretty standard fee however, what they fail to share with you is their diagnostic fee is $300+. If I remember correctly, it's pushing the $400 range. They graciously role the $69 fee into that and suggest they are giving you a discount by giving you a VIP Plan for $99. In short, I eneded up paying $322 to have a light switched changed out. Failure to be transparent creates sticker shock and an unhappy experience despite the quality of the work. Having used multiple electrician companies over the years, I can tell you this is extremely high. With the VIP plan though, it only costs me $200+ in the future for a diagnostic test? By the way, that diagnostic check doesn't inlcude actual repairs. Have to say that I'm a first time and last time customer. Service tech was great but he was put into a position to defend the undefensible. Offering a warranty doesn't justify this level of cost. Can and have obtained equivalent service at much more reasonable prices. Unfortunate as I have multiple rental properties in the area. Would have been nice to have a partnership and not feel like you were raked across the coals.

It’s true that dispatch fees are standard in our industry and now most service companies also offer customer loyalty plans as well. TLC’s VIP Customer Protection Plan creates loyal customers and in return our customers receive many immediate benefits including discounted dispatch fees for all service calls including emergency and after-hours, discounted pricing, preferential scheduling, and an electrical inspection. In addition, your VIP Customer Protection Plan is valid for all properties that you own in our Service Area, including rental, vacation, and commercial property.

All our practices are up front on our website and provided to you by our call takers when booking. Pricing is given up front by our technicians on site prior to doing any work. It is unfortunate that you were unable to be onsite and all transactions were only discussed over the phone. Your invoice for your service included three items: Dispatch Fee, VIP Plan, and Diagnostics. A repair was included as the technician also installed a customer provided switch at no additional charge.
