I wanted to use a local company so I hired American Flooring - Holt to do all the flooring in the house, vinyl plank and carpeting. Right away, there were some issues with scheduling when the estimated showed up three hours late. Then when the guys were here doing the vinyl plank they thought they were supposed to do the bedrooms but all the bedrooms were supposed to be carpet. When they realized this, the whole estimate had to be redone. The vinyl plank guys also didn't caulk around the tubs. They caulked around some of the doors but not others. When the carpeting was laid, the vacuuming was not done thoroughly. Admittedly, I was doing some construction in the house during this time, so not all the outlets were working yet. but there were carpet shavings everywhere and we had to go back and vacuum them all up ourselves. In the end, the floor looks great but I would hesitate to recommend American Flooring. Not because of the price or the quality of the product but because the measuring wasn't great and the whole experience wasn't top-notch.
