Pearson Honda Sales Team Bait-and-Switch Games

Over the period of last week, the sales-person and I, negotiated all the details about the Color, Options, Price, Fees, and Tax, of a new Honda Civic (in writing, via emails). The sales-person asked me if I was ready to make a purchase. I asked him to re-confirm all the numbers and car specs we had discussed (in writing, via email). We agreed that if he had the car in their lot, I would go buy it, if he did not, I was going to put down a deposit, and order the car. The sales-person confirmed that all the numbers and specs were finalized, and he had already run them by his sales-manager. He also confirmed that he had the car in their lot. Yesterday, I stopped by the dealership to complete the appropriate paperwork, and purchase the car. Before I started filling the paperwork, I asked the sales-person again to confirm our agreed upon numbers and specs, which I had printed and brought with me. He assured me that everything was confirmed. I completed all the required paperwork, I provided pre-qualification loan proof, they made copies of my driver's license and insurance. After everything was completed, the sales-person took me to the car, which was different color than the one we had agreed upon. When I pointed out him that this was the wrong color, he said this is the one they had on the lot, but if I was patient, for a few days, he would order the one we had agreed upon. I told him that I would wait for the car we had agreed upon. He asked me to put down a deposit. I agreed, and gave him my credit card. He then came back with his manager, and informed me that I would have to come up with additional money, for the labor cost to add the options. Since the sales-person and the manager lied on the deal - they had agreed and confirmed, twice - before I completed any paperwork, I walked out. I do not believe this the right way to do business, or to build a reputation. Too bad.
