This past winter Vulcan cam in and put a french drain and sump pump system in my basement. 2 days construction, and more than $10,000 later (the agreed price), it was done.

When the snows came and melted later in January, I could hear that sump pump firing off every half hour or so - my basement is bone dry. For the first time in the 20 years I've lived in my home.

Very impressive. Now I'm inclined to actually carpet and finish my basement.

The work crew was very polite and were diligent with their work. The team leader and the other guys were always happy to answer my questions, and explain not only what they were doing but how the system would work.

Easily the best 10 grand I ever spent. I see it as a quality of life improvement. No longer am I sopping up 100 gallons of water every time it rains or snow melts.

Talk to these guys. Sales is a little pushy, but once you negotiate a deal they will stick to it. I assume unless there is something unexpected. Like any major work, I recommend keeping an eye on it, to make sure it goes as planned. I say thins taking into account some of the other reviews I've read about Vulcan deviating from the plan.

But yeah, I'm happy with the work.
